6 Amazing Unusual Sports

We all know that the Olympic Games bring you glory.
...that being said, there are some sports out there that will turn you automatically into a Rock Start!

1. Wife Carrying

Wife Carrying, or as they say in the original Finnish "Eukokanto", is a simple sport. A male has to race a hard kind of cross-country 253,5 m long track while carrying a female teammate.
There are several styles of Wife Carrying and there is even an annual World Championship held in Sonkajärvi, Finland.
Who doesn't love a cool outdoor sport like this?

2. World Sauna Championships

With it's roots in the unofficial sauna sitting competitions where everyone wants to prove they can take it a little bit hotter than the next guy, the World Sauna Championships started on 1999 in Heinola, Finland.
This idea is also very simple: sit in the sauna longer than everyone else and manage to leave unaided (and that says a lot!).
But there is one slight problem: the starting temperature of the sauna is 110ºC, half a liter of water will be poured on the stove every 30 seconds, you must sit erect and you cannot touch or brush your skin.

3. Ferret legging

What in the hell?!? Yes you read it right, they are putting live ferrets inside their trousers.
It is thought to have started among the (lonely) miners of Yorkshire, in England, and the objective is to be the one that holds the longest with the Ferret inside the trousers.
The world record is at the moment five hours and thirty minutes.

4. Swamp Football

Who wouldn't like to have a mud mask while playing football with his friends?
Well, Swamp Football is exactly what the name says, it is Football which is played on a muddy swamp. There are some changes from the normal football rules: 13 minutes each half, no outsides, 6 players and no substitution limit.
The annual World Swamp Football Championships are held at Vuorisuo Bog in Hyrynsalmi, Finland, since 2000.
Not for every couch player, but, for the ones who dare, it is a lot of fun!

5. Ladder racing 

The name of this sport is self explanatory: you have to race going up a ladder.
If you dream about being either a Fireman or Spider man, if you are not afraid of heights and you like wearing tight colorful tights, this is the sport for you!

6. Mölkky

This sport not only has one of the coolest unpronounceable names, but it is also one if the nicest summer-outdoor-drink-a-beer-while-you-play sports in the world.
It is a simple throw a piece of wood to make other pieces of wood fall. You will get as many points as fallen pieces of wood or, if you fall only one, then you will get as many points as the number written on that one piece of would which you hit. The first to reach exactly 50 points wins!
